Luv is in the Air, almost.

Orthodox Volunteer Corps and the Luv Michael Residents

Making the best of a snowy evening.

This past weekend didn’t unfold the way we had hoped—but it reminded us, once again, what luv really looks like 💙

We were heartbroken to change plans for our Luv Is in the Air dance due to extreme weather. Months of planning went into this event, and we waited until the absolute last minute to make the call because we knew how many of our friends were excited and counting down.

The food was prepared.

The Instagram backdrop and decorations were up.

Outfits were pressed, hair was done, and the energy was high.

And then… Mother Nature doubled down. By 3:00 pm, we had no choice but to cancel.

But here’s the beautiful part: our residents and their parents gathered at the church and made the very best of it. There was still plenty of luv in the room.

Seven incredible Orthodox Volunteer Corps members traveled from Boston just to spend the weekend getting to know our Luv Michael residents. There were bracelets made, dancing, laughter, and hours of genuine connection. Jenna jumped in as DJ—keeping everyone smiling and moving—and Father Constantine, Anastasia, Xanthi, Uli, and Yazmin all helped turn disappointment into joy.

And for the brave few who didn’t get the cancellation notice and made it out safely, Chef Scott, owner Ian Duke, and the amazing team at Southampton Social Club prepared a delicious meal and welcomed them with open arms.

Plans may change—but community shows up.

That’s what stayed constant.

Next year? We may rethink the month (winter weather, you win this round ❄️), but the spirit of this night is already something we’re holding onto.

Thank you to everyone wit’s, flexibility, and open hearts. That’s the real celebration.
